Intel Core Ultra 9 285K

I’ve been using the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K for a bit now for development work. It’s definitely fast and stable, but I can’t say it changed my day-to-day as much as I expected. Most tasks are quicker, but the upgrade felt more incremental than dramatic. Still a good CPU—just pricey for the real-world gain. Highlight: LGA1851 socket.

I bought the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K mainly for a fast everyday PC, and it absolutely delivers. Multitasking is effortless—dozens of tabs, spreadsheets, video calls, and background apps don’t slow it down. It feels like the kind of CPU you won’t have to think about for years.

After upgrading to the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, editing performance is fine, but it didn’t really stand out for me. Exports are faster than before, but not enough to feel “wow” given the cost of the upgrade. I also think a lot of the speed depends on the GPU and SSD, so the CPU alone didn’t change everything.
